Two Years of Pilates by Tammie: Growing Through Education, Connection and the Konnector
Celebrating a second year of Konnector growth, education, collaboration and community.
On July 1, this studio celebrates two years.
When I opened the studio in July 2024, I wanted to create more than a place to take Pilates classes. I wanted to build a studio centered around education, thoughtful movement, personal connection and community—with the Konnector at the heart of it all.
Our second year brought tremendous growth. We added two more reformers, expanded the class schedule, welcomed more clients and added three new instructors to the teaching team. But the most meaningful growth went beyond numbers. This was the year our studio began expanding more deeply into education and into the larger Pilates community.
When a Dream Became Reality
One of the most meaningful moments of our second year was welcoming internationally recognized educator Viktor Uygan to Pilates by Tammie.
For a long time, having Viktor visit our studio was simply a dream. His work has had a profound influence on my own education, teaching and understanding of the Konnector. This year, that dream became reality.
Future educational opportunities with Viktor are still in development, and one of my greatest goals is to host Konnector trainings at our studio. I want this to become not only a place where clients move, but also a place where teachers grow and the Konnector community continues to expand.
Welcoming the OPC Winter Tour
Our studio was also honored to serve as a stop on the OPC Winter Tour with Lesley Logan. Welcoming Lesley and the Online Pilates Classes community gave our clients and instructors another opportunity to learn, connect and experience our studio as part of a much broader Pilates community. These experiences reinforced something I have believed from the beginning: education and community are deeply connected.
Growing Our Studio and Teaching Team
As demand continued to grow, we added two more reformers and expanded the schedule with more classes and more opportunities to move.
We also welcomed three new instructors to the teaching schedule. Each brought her own experience, personality and perspective while continuing to support the thoughtful, educational approach that defines Pilates by Tammie. Watching our instructors grow in confidence and develop their own teaching voices has been one of the most rewarding parts of this year.
Helping Another Studio Dream Come to Life
Another meaningful part of our second year was helping Amy Silvestri bring her dream of opening Bella Forma Pilates in Wilmington, Delaware, to life.
Supporting Amy as she worked toward opening her own studio was incredibly special. It reflected something I believe deeply: growth does not have to happen in isolation. There is room for all of us to teach, learn, create and succeed.
Helping Amy strengthened the Konnector community in Delaware and created another space where clients can experience thoughtful Pilates instruction. That is the kind of growth and connection I hope to continue encouraging.
Creating Community Through Education
To me, community is more than people gathering in the same room. It is created when clients feel supported enough to learn, when instructors feel encouraged to ask questions and when studios support one another rather than compete. It is the new client who walks in nervous and leaves feeling capable. It is the longtime client who continues discovering more in familiar movements. It is the instructor who finds confidence in her own voice. It is one studio owner helping another bring her vision to life. That is the community we are building.
Looking Ahead
As Pilates by Tammie enters its third year, education will continue to guide everything we do.
We will continue developing our instructors, expanding our Konnector programming and creating opportunities for clients and teachers to learn more deeply. We will continue working toward future educational opportunities with Viktor and toward the dream of hosting Konnector trainings at our studio. We will continue supporting teachers, clients and studio owners who believe in thoughtful movement and shared growth.
Thank you to every client, instructor, educator and supporter who has been part of these first two years.
We are building something very special.
And we are only getting started.
