Tammie Joseph

Founder

Tammie founded Pilates By Tammie in 2024 with a vision to create a highly educated, boutique Pilates experience rooted in precision and personal attention. As Delaware’s first fully Konnector-equipped studio, her programming blends classical foundations with progressive, intelligent movement designed to build strength, mobility, and lasting resilience.

Trained through Balanced Body and deeply committed to continued education, Tammie approaches Pilates as both a craft and a lifelong practice. Her teaching emphasizes clarity, thoughtful progression, and the belief that every body benefits from strong fundamentals and mindful movement.

Today, she is expanding her role as a mentor and educator — developing instructors to teach with confidence, depth, and integrity while continuing to cultivate a studio environment that is welcoming, focused, and grounded in exceptional movement.

Erica Pentoney

Instructor

In 2023, Erica took her first Reformer class. From there, she completely fell in love with the Practice of Pilates. Erica had always loved fitness and moving her body, but the Reformer was different than anything she had ever previously tried. Having 4 young children and a busy life, she found a place to mentally unwind while also feeling strong and functional for everyday activities.   Erica received her certification in Mat Pilates in May of 2024 and Reformer 1 through Balanced Body in October of 2025. She will be continuing her certifications to become fully Balanced Body Certified,  working towards her goal of bringing the best Reformer Pilates experience to you!

Sierra Zaner

Instructor

Sierra has been in love with reformer and mat movement for a decade — Pilates, Lagree, Barre, you name it. As a youth competitive cheerleader, she instantly connected with the strength, balance, and feel-good energy Pilates brings to her adult life. After finding her home in the supportive community Tammie created, Sierra is thrilled to take this next step in her Pilates journey and help others discover the kind of movement that truly makes them feel their best.

Lisa Yacomelli

Instructor

Growing up in a family of dancers, educators, and a lone engineer, from an early age to this day, my one great question has been how to connect with myself and others through the ways we communicate: words and movement. I love observing patterns, whether they appear on a page or in how people move. These devotions have led me through two careers with words (attorney and educator) and three with movement (dancer, choreographer, yoga instructor). My most recent romance has been with Pilates, which I discovered at Pilates by Tammie while recovering my core strength after two major surgeries. My dedication to Tammie’s students is to, in a welcoming manner, sharpen my cues and my observation skills to help you discover the joy of your own strength, whether you are young or life-seasoned. Presently, I have completed Balanced Body training in Movement Principles, Reformer 1 and 2, and Mat 1, and will complete Konnector training in March 2026.

Martina Shinko

Instructor

Martina was born in Slovakia and later moved to London, where she discovered her love for travel, the outdoors, and staying active. She spent years playing professional volleyball and exploring everything from surfing and wakeboarding to snowboarding and mountain hiking.  Before becoming a mom of two, Martina worked in the accounting world—but her true passion was always movement. She developed a deep interest in fitness, bodybuilding, and Pilates, which led her to earn certifications as a fitness instructor and Mat Pilates instructor through Balanced Body in London and California. She recently completed Reformer 1 and is continuing her studies with Reformer 2 and 3.  In the coming year, Martina will also be pursuing Pre & Postnatal Pilates certification. Her teaching focuses on functional movement, pelvic floor strength, and a calm, mindful approach to the body.
